Overview And Experience

Ben has a diverse real estate practice and represents a wide array of clients including corporations, limited liability companies, developers, professional organizations and individuals. Ben handles all aspects of commercial real estate transactions from start to finish. He represents purchasers and sellers in the acquisition and sale of all types of commercial properties, including assemblages of large acreage tracts of raw land, office buildings, office condominiums, multi-family projects, student housing, warehouses, mini-storage facilities, and convenience stores. Ben has extensive experience representing clients in closing loans secured by real estate, both for acquisition transactions as well as refinances.

In addition to Ben’s transaction-based practice, he has experience representing landlords and tenants in the preparation and negotiation of commercial leases. Ben started his real estate practice directly out of law school and at the beginning of his career was taught how to examine and review titles, giving him a firm foundation in real estate law. Ben is often hired by title insurance companies to examine titles and render opinions for the issuance of title insurance policies.

Ben is routinely retained by out-of-state attorneys to provide local counsel assistance for real estate transactions in North Carolina.

Ben was named to Business North Carolina magazine’s Legal Elite for real estate. (2010)
